What She Says: I'm An Average Weight

chicktionary.gif What She Says:
I'm an average weight.

Wrong Answers:
Average for an elephant?
Baby got back. . .
What She Means:
When preparing an online profile, it’s not easy to describe oneself accurately . . . and we all know women have a tendency to embellish one way or the other. So how do you tell the whales from the waifs when reading a physical description? Thanks to some guy named Quigley (http://quigley.netfirms.com/) here is a chart to help men translate just what she means when she says “average.” So if you’re a chubby chaser or an athletic enthusiast, you can find just what you’re looking for:

What the ad says: Thin
Translation: Could be anything from sickly anorexic to average.

What the ad says: Athletic
Translation: Could mean the girl is a female bodybuilder, or it could mean she used a Stairmaster for all of ten minutes last month. Who knows.

What the ad says: Average
Translation: A few extra pounds

What the ad says: A few extra pounds
Translation: At least fifty extra pounds

What the ad says: Large
Translation: Too big to fit in a Honda Civic. Only date if you own a full-sized car.

What the ad says: Rubenesque
Translation: Imagine a chick in a Peter Paul Rubens painting, and then imagine what she'd look like if she gained at least fifty pounds.

Learn to read photographs and screen names.

If her profile says something overly cute like "snugglywuggums" or "PrincessQTPie" close your browser immediately. Overly cute names mean anything from high maintenance to high weight and neediness with the worst case scenario being a psycho. When reading profiles remember the name and read the weight. If they don't line up it's best not to "waist" your time.

Also, learn to read the photographs. If they only show the eyes and the profile says "average" and the name is "overly cute" you could (emphasis on could) be in for more than you bargained. Consider that someone who is overweight and comfortable with themself is going to show the whole picture and not try to hide behind a sliver of pixels or poor lighting and a head shot. Weight can sometimes be read from the face anyway so learn to relate the two and you'll be happier. Though some of those web cams go fisheye and could make kate moss look rubenesque two feet from the lens.

Another thing to look for in photos is age. Look at the photo and think about the age. If the person is thirty eight and it looks like a highschool photo...that's probably what it is and she feels she has something to hide or at the outside is just too lazy to put up an updated photo. Neither of these two scenarios is likely to lead to a happy meet up.

Right answer: Whatever. You're all the same.

Correct Answer: Sadly, "average" in first world countries equates to morbidly obese these days.

i think women with low self esteem often exagerate their weight too- i mean, if a woman is in shape, "of average weight", good health, etc, she might say she has a few extra pounds.
maybe it's to impress the guy when she actually sees him
or else it's because she considers the very thin to be average, thus putting her on the heavier end of the scale.
i say this from experience.

Thanks antiriad, you made my day. Thatonegirl your totally right. I believe a lot of women overthink their own weight. My friends say "I'm fat" and/or "am i fat" which is totally untrue she is the normal. Normal weight. well actaully much lower than normal. Since the normal now is obese. My GF would be considered a twig.

Now Keep this in mind where does this article say all women say this or that about their weight. I can't find it. Some will, not all.
